And IMHO, the CPU/RAM/IO is a little high for my liking, and a database can grow very large over time if you regularly rotate thousands of files/huuuge files until you clear it. This was happening on the Core i7 computer. In the case of the large files (20 GB total) it took syncthing 4 minutes to scan the files before it started to transfer and it took btsync 2 minutes to index the files before it started to transfer. IMHO, the biggest thing sorely missing from Syncthing is a read-only equivalent, which makes it near useless for a distribution method to multiple untrusted computers. The average speed was 20 Mb/s for Syncthing and 40 Mb/s for btsync.

Hell, I think the Android app starts with the DCIM folder already added. Is there a way to do mobile photos/videos sync? Thats how I sync my Android phone photos with desktop and server (with BTSync). So far, everything I've thrown at it works fine (anything from hundreds of thousands of small files to very large ones) with the large exception of Symlinks (which is probably due to the nature of Windows Linux, I don't recall).

Other thoughts: Syncthing has some useful features different file versioning and download order (getting oldest files first is a life saver in some cases) Resilio has nice clients (and better optimized for Android). This 'feature' is killing one of my syncs, since it has a limited volume size of 30GB. BTSync is a much more open platform while Syncthing was designed more for security in mind. Didn't have such problems, but yes, Resilio is more polished and stable. Not sure why, but all my synced folders using syncthing show a never-ending (and only growing) number of sync-conflict files, taking up gigabytes in minutes of having syncthing running. Don't forget that it has a different target to it. add btsync group as owner to the synced folder sudo chmod a+rwx -R btsync (un sure if this needs to be reran after new downloads, so far it appears no) create an ssh tunnel to your box using 127.0.0.1:8888 create an user account download agent on your destination box setup the readonly share on both ends. It doesn't look as pretty but it works mighty fine. I generally stick to Syncthing due to its free and limitless nature and have generally found it to work better (I recall setting up Resilio sync being a bitch on Linux).
